LithiumCorp has just released the next version of it’s Lithium Network Monitoring Platform for Mac OS X on the 22nd of October 2007. Building on the success of it’s Mac-focused network, server and storage monitoring software, this new version of Lithium delivers unparalleled monitoring support for Apple’s Xsan file system and incorporates a vast number of improvements in Lithium’s usability and rich monitoring feature-set.
The jewel in the crown of this version of Lithium is its tightly integrated Xsan monitoring support and the user-interface innovations that provide a user experience that follows the architecture of the Xsan system.
Lithium’s trademark stunning user interface has been refined with the addition of an “Inspector” window that provides context-sensitive monitoring data to augment the live monitoring data shown in Lithium Console. For example, clicking on an Xsan Volume will show you the storage usage statistics and active meta data controller in the main Console window whilst the Inspector panel rolls out current faults, predictive trend analysis and a visually awesome, live monitoring view of the Xserve RAID units that comprise that volume.
Whenever you’re viewing monitoring telemetry in Console the new Inspector Panel will being a wealth of additional historic and current data to the foreground. Data that you would have previously opened another window for is now right before your eyes.
The new Lithium Core Admin application greatly simplifies the initial install and setup of Lithium with an end-to-end Mac OS X user interface for the entire process. Should you run into trouble, Core Admin incorporates an in-depth diagnostic feature to assist with troubleshooting. Should you want to move your Lithium install from one computer to another, Core Admin will perform a full system backup and restore.
