Lithium utilizes a combination of the industry standard Simple Network Monitoring Protocol (SNMP) and vendor-specific proprietary monitoring protocols for device monitoring and polling. SNMP monitoring support allows Lithium to provide out-of-the box support for all devices that support SNMP to any degree. The SNMP monitoring protocol is implemented in virtually all network-attached servers, network devices and appliances. Lithium Console is the Mac OS X and Windows based monitoring console application. It uses an XML over HTTP interface to connect to Lithium Core to download network monitoring data. Web provides an anywhere, anytime interface to Core via a standards-compliant web browser. Web does not use any third party applications (such as Flash) and hence can be viewed on virtually any web-enabled device or computer. |
